Bloggers have achieved a first! Or at least a first open acknowledgment.
The CIA's Foreign Broadcast Information Service has compiled a new gallery of photographs of Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant. They got some of them from a blog, www.rasanic.com. Others are from the Iranian Fars News Agency. The file can be found here (ppt).
Open sources are important for intelligence. For example, this graphic is a photographic argument from GlobalSecurity.org that a plutonium reactor of an A. Q. Khan design is being built at Arak.
Nice to see that the CIA is starting to recognize the value of open-source intelligence.
