Cheryl - interesting that you recalled 1776 - so did I...

Happy 4th of July, 2008.
May peace be on the horizon this 4th of July,2008.
May the 4th Fleet's recent dispatch to the Caribbean not herald a revitalised quest for domination and conquest, but humanitarian help from the rich for the poor.
May there be more wisdom in policies, less torture when those policies are applied by America in the world.
May the word "freedom" not be interpreted to mean a freedom to lie and invade other nations, but a "freedom" to choose to do that which is just, humane and right for all.
May the true spirit of the American Constitution be brought forth from 1776 into the 21st Century.
And - lest I forget - may I wish you "Happy Birthday America" 2008.
